For nearly 40 years, we have paid billions in dedicated sales taxes —0.5 cents on every purchase —with the promise to improve roads and transit, and yet our neighborhood streets are crumbling, people can’t get to where they need to go efficiently, and our kids can’t get to school safely.
Despite generating $3 billion, our transportation system hasn’t kept pace with our county’s growth. The result? Whether you walk, bike, drive, or take public transportation, getting around is too expensive, unreliable, takes too long, and is unsafe.
Billions later, what do we have to show for it?
It’s time for us to take back control from the powers-that-be – because we the people know what our neighborhoods need, we pay the taxes and we deserve to have a say in how our hard-earned money is spent.

The current sales-tax measure – Measure C – expires in 2027. That means, we, the people have an opportunity to shape the next wave of transportation investments across the county.
